Description

A limited release of High West Rendezvous Rye finished in French oak port barrels. Named after “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by William Shakespeare. A blend of straight rye whiskeys, finished in port and French oak barrels.

We recommend that you enjoy this special spirit neat, due to its many layers of complexity, next to a warm fire as the snow piles up on the window sill. It also pairs beautifully with fig cookies!

Tasting Notes

Nose: Maple toasted pecans, cinnamon custard, Jaffa cake, star anise, gentian root, cinnamon pine cones, oatmeal raisin cookie, fresh Bing cherries.

Palate: Teeming with dried black cherries, fig syrup, molasses, leather, dark chocolate almonds, spiced cherry jam on gingerbread toast.

Finish: Spiced clove and blackberries, candied ginger, wooden spice box, orange peel.

Distillery Information

High West Distillery was founded in 2006 by David Perkins and his wife, Jane. David, a former biochemist, was inspired to open his own distillery after seeing the parallels between the fermentation and distilling process and his own work in biochemistry during a trip to the Maker’s Mark Distillery in Loretto, Kentucky. In 2004, David and his family relocated to Park City, Utah to begin their new venture, where they began distilling in 2007.
