Description
A blend of six to twelve year old bourbon, this whiskey pays homage to Pappy Van Winkle’s original bourbon recipe.
The famous bourbon brand Old Fitzgerald was named for John E. Fitzgerald, who according to a family biography of Pappy Van Winkle may have been a rather more colourful character than we imagine!
Fitzgerald, it seems, was a bonded treasury agent, one of the only people to carry keys to the storage warehouses. Apparently he also had a taste for the very finest bourbons and didn’t mind helping himself! It was this infamous character with the fine palate who was immortalised by the brand back in the 1880s.
