Cake and candy on the nose, very bright on the palate with a medium finish. The Personal Select process involves blending two barrels of Woodford Reserve together for a cuvee of your own design. Why? To be perfectly honest, I’m not really sure. They seem to be dead set against bottling a single barrel bourbon, even though this creates unnecessary complication. Nonetheless, the whiskey is pretty good and we’ve priced it to move. Unless the Woodford folks change their process, this will be our last store pick from the distillery. How’s that for a write up?
