Smooth Ambler’s Wheated Bourbon is a hotly anticipated release from the West Virginia-based distillers, made with spirit entirely produced at their state-of-the-art craft distillery. TAG Galyean, John Little and the Smooth Ambler team have proved that they’re a dab-hand at sniffing out top whiskey to release for their Old Scout series, but this is 100% their own whiskey – and it’s cracking stuff.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Toffee apples, Coco Shreddies and Frosties (in the same bowl!), a touch of rolling tobacco.

Palate: Dry spice hits the palate first, followed by caster sugar, chocolate croissant and another wave of cigar box richness. Mature but fiery.

Finish: Orange peel, leather, cinnamon and black pepper.
