Arriving from Ireland in 1837, Henry McKenna knew he had brought something special to the U.S. Years later, he used his family’s recipe, passed down for generations, to produce  his great sippin whiskey at the distillery he founded in 1855 near Fairfield, KY. Due to McKenna’s strict requirement of proper ageing before bottling, it didn’t take long for his whiskey to become popular.
